Progressive rehabilitation & closure plan (Tier 1 Operation Northern QLD)
Terra Tech provided technical support in the development of a progressive rehabilitation and closure plan (PRCP) for a Tier 1 Operation in North QLD. We worked closely with the operational mine planning and rehabilitation teams to develop a compliant PRCP whilst enabling the client to remain nimble in response to market demands. Our GIS, technical and regulatory engagement support enabled our client to refine their PRCP based on consultation with Traditional Owners and the regulator.
Legacy mine remediation action plan review
Terra Tech provided expert review of a RAP for an abandoned silver-lead operation in western NSW. Our expertise in the cover system design process and development of risk-based remedial criteria enabled the client (Department Regional NSW) to respond to auditor comments.
Planning approval project management – NSW construction materials
We recently partnered with an earth moving and construction materials business to gain development approval for a gravel quarry in regional NSW. We managed the provision of air quality, noise, heritage and ecological studies to deliver a robust study which met all legislative requirements and ultimately enabled determination of the project.
Community liaison & approvals project support
Terra Tech provided community liaison and engagement support for a Tier 1 metallurgical coal operation in NSW. Our support included the development of communications content, community consultation and approvals project management support.
Operational secondment
We recently provided principal-level operational approvals and community support for a mine ventilation shaft project in regional NSW. During our tenure, the team achieved approval for the modification of a state significant development and managed post-approval matters to allow construction to commence.

Terra Tech provided ongoing project due diligence support to construction materials businesses in NSW to identify and describe approvals and environmental risks associated with potential projects.
Mine closure pre-feasibility study rehabilitation and revegetation specialists
Terra Tech Consulting led the rehabilitation and revegetation work streams for a mine closure pre-feasibility study. Our team led the development of PFS level mine rehabilitation and revegetation designs over one of Australia’s largest opencut mines. Our approach utilised rehabilitation monitoring data analytics, vadose zone hydrology and remote sensing to deliver an integrated plan which can be leveraged during ‘life of mine’ progressive rehabilitation to fill remaining knowledge gaps whilst fulfilling regulatory requirements.
